Abstract:
Previously unrecorded finds from the hoard demonstrate that it was not found in three lots but in a single closed group. The brooches suggest a date of c 40-20 BC rather than during the Caesarian campaigns. The silver brooches, and others like them, are not necessarily Italian, and the arrival of most Gallo-Belgic coinage in Britain was not necessarily during the Gallic Wars. Au (abr)
