Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
The paper examines the treatment of landscape, temporality and archaeology in the writings of Lewis Grassic Gibbon, focusing on the three books of A Scots Quair. Through discussion of Grassic Gibbon's work it is suggested that an understanding of different, interrelated, timescales is central to understanding landscapes, and that an understanding of time, scale and narrative in writing about landscape can potentially reveal a richer way of viewing the world. |
