Abstract:		 Printed and documentary sources, archaeological excavation, dendrochronology and geophysical survey are employed to investigate the history of the small country house near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, which was remodelled in phases from c. 1600 until its abandonment in c. 1950. Traditions about its garden layout, parapet walkway, a gatehouse and yew `tunnel' are examined.
