A massive Roman wall of an important colonia building was followed by AngloScandinavian levels with much organic matter and wattle houses succeeded by plank-built ones. Widespread burning of 11th century (?Harrying of the North) was seen, and med and postmed levels were found largely intact, with a late med building, large oven, and two barrel wells (see also 89/910). | ||||||||
