Abstract:
Account of excavations at Wesley Square, Cashel, during which the structural remains of two phases of medieval building were identified. An upstanding medieval building adjacent to the site was interpreted as the medieval prison. The burials of three adult males, and a quantity of disarticulated bone representing at least six other individuals, were also recovered, and the article discusses the evidence provided by these remains, which may have been placed in unconsecrated ground and have been associated with the prison.
