Abstract:
Excavations in 2006 at Wick Lane, Norton Fitzwarren, by Cotswold Archaeology, exposed two cremation burials, both placed within partially surviving collared urns. Radiocarbon dates taken from plant remains and charcoal within one of the burials dated these to the Early Bronze Age. Former medieval field boundary ditches and a small number of pits dating from the 11th to 14th centuries were also uncovered, with evidence for metalworking thought to relate to settlement nearby.
