Abstract:
Reports on the discovery of human remains and possible standing stone fragments in a quarry close to the Mayo/Roscommon border. These are thought to be remains of a burial mound that had been destroyed by the quarry. Radiocarbon dates for bone samples range from AD 70 to AD 600. A nearby mound and standing stone from Kiltullagh (Co Roscommon) is also described. The `Appendix', by J Lilley (64--5), comprises a report on the skull.
