Abstract:
A number of short papers report survey work in progress. Colin Armfield (pp 27-9) reports on 'Dressing floors on the Kingside [lead-zinc] Lode, Copa Hill, Cwmystwyth' (mostly postmed but some possibly much earlier); Paul R Davis (29-31) records 'An archaeological survey of the Hirwaun-Rhigos Ridge, Mid-Glamorgan' (nearly all ruined drystone buildings, and mostly postmed); Terrence James (31-4) reports on 'Air photography by the Dyfed Archaeological Trust 1989' (900 photos from 570 sites, and recognition of a new site type, 'concentric antenna enclosures'); Jonathan Kissock & R N Cooper (34-5) on 'Gower farms and field systems' (hedge dating); D E Morgan (35-8) on 'Black Mountain - Mynydd Du survey' (inventory of sites); Jonathan Parkhouse & Steven Parry (38-9) on 'Rumney alternative feeding grounds' (assessment of the archaeology of an area proposed for a new lagoon for wading birds: part of the Upper Wentlooge Formation); Anthony Ward on 'Black Mountain field survey' (39) with sites of various dates; and J G Roberts & R Peterson (40) on 'Crannog sites in Wales and the Marches' (investigation of a number of reported crannogs showed that Llangorse is the only undisputed Welsh example).
