Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was undertaken between January 2010 and December 2011 as part of the Porthmadog bypass construction contributing to understanding of the Traeth Mawr and its development from the Late Mesolithic. New discoveries included a Roman Lime-kiln and oven (GAT HER 34844, SH 55701 40082), collection of roofing slates with associated smithing pits and dumps of burnt material possibly of Roman date (GAT HER 34845), Mesolithic and Neolithic lithic scatters (GAT HER 33595, 33604), a medieval shell midden (GAT HER 33597) and a number of industrial period transport routeways (GAT HER 21171, 33605).
