Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Report on a dense finds scatter and a section of trackway, part of a series of Late Bronze Age and Iron Age features exposed on the foreshore of Magor. Intermittent fieldwork recovered a large assemblage of prehistoric pottery and other finds, and palaeo-environmental data and a series of radiocarbon dates provide a chronology of landscape exploitation and environmental change for the first half of the first millennium BC. It would appear that the area was used for a range of craft activities (including pottery-making), hunting, fishing and summer pasture, in the face of increasing marine flooding. The trackway provided access to a tidal creek, presumably for fishing. Includes specialist reports on | ||||||||||||
