Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Peat mining by Fisons at Thorne Moors uncovered a prehistoric forest considered to be of international importance. It took several months for news of the discovery to be passed to archaeologists and the effects of the dewatering associated with peat extraction are irreversible. Evaluation work on untouched areas will now take place and will increase knowledge of late Neolithic and Bronze Age forest management. | |||
