Abstract:
Describes a program using a new form of data compression to achieve substantial savings in storage needs together with extremely flexible data input. The system has been written in a standard language (FORTRAN) for ready portability between mainframes and microcomputers. A 510-byte record can be reduced down to 12 bytes, achieving a saving of about 97% in storage space.
