Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
The story of St Withburga has always been associated with East Dereham. However, pottery evidence is one of various factors discussed which point to West Dereham as being the more likely site of the saint's activities. It is possible that the legend was subsequently `transferred' to the other village by the Bishop of Ely to attract commerce. | ||
