Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Four unfinished Devon hillforts, three on the eastern side of Dartmoor and a fourth on the western edge of Exmoor, are discussed. Only Cranbrook Castle has previously received much attention, but all present interesting features, and Hunter's Tor in particular reveals a complex history. The upland location of these sites and their control of the adjacent lowlands are considered. |
