Abstract:
Limited excavations were carried out on a cliff-top site which had been under threat from erosion at Wembury on the south Devon coast. These provided evidence of occupation dated by radiocarbon to the period AD 420--600, with a probable hearth and timber structure. There was evidence of intensive burning, probably due to a destructive fire.
