First full catalogue of the surviving material recovered by William Pengelly in the 19th century, with a discussion of the possible uses made of the cave at various times: it was not necessarily a refuge. Finds include pottery (Beaker to RB, with a good collection of La Tène-type wares), objects of stone, bone, shale, amber, copper alloy, and a fine La Tène brooch of a class whose distribution centres on Glastonbury. | |||||||||
