Abstract:
Work in advance of road construction on 4ha to the south-west of Gillingham identified a pair of identical Mid-Saxon grain-drying ovens, and ditches and gullies delineating raised platforms and rectangular enclosures of twelfth to fourteenth century date. These combined with artefactual material may indicate a well preserved early medieval to medieval settlement.
