ST 467541. Recent intensive, and continuing, study of the sequence in a small area of the cave, using primarily sedimentological and palaeontological techniques, has revealed the presence of three main units. These date, respectively, from the Late Devensian, from a full glacial (Dev) episode and from an interglacial episode (?Ipswichian). Re-examination of earlier finds and literature generally supports these conclusions. New 14C dates suggest that the brief Palaeo intrusion was very near the end of the Devensian. Au(abr) |
