Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Excavations of the principal monastery of the Isle of Man revealed the church plan: an aisleless nave and choir with flanking transepts and their two chapels close to the E End. The church was begun in the 12th century, the nave completed by 1257 and the tower built and modifications made in the 14th century. A chapel attached to the N transept's N chapel was an unexpected feature. Some of the Christian burials predated the church building. F B | |||||||||||
