Article of a 13 cm tall figurine found at Strata Florida, Wales, in or before 1902 and initially believed to be an ethnographic import. More recent analysis indicates that it is made of box wood and radiocarbon dated to between 111 BC and AD 127 (2 sd). The paper places the figurine in the context of northern and north-western European woodcarvings, and argues that it is most probably an artefact made on British soil. | ||||||
