Abstract:
Article considering the history of the church at Glasbury, including its relationship and that of the settlement to the changing course of the River Wye and the reasons for at least two shifts in its location. The authors also discuss the physical remains of the old (medieval) church and its surroundings, and its role as a clas foundation or mother church, indicating that a monastic settlement was likely to have existed nearby.
