Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
The small proportion of whole or reconstructable vessels obtained from archaeological contexts seriously hampers studies of variables such as vessel capacity. Using the stochastic methods of correlation and Model II linear regression a series of relationships was isolated that allowed the mathematical prediction of culturaily meaningful measures for partial or broken vessels (eg volume, diameter, height) using the known, or even the estimated, value of weight.
