Stylistic analysis of a group of small, relatively undistinguished mirrors (Group X), which are circular, with or without a handle across the back, and plain or decorated with compass-drawn and/or geometric decoration. Nearly half come from the Lower Rhine area, where there may have been a workshop, possibly in Nijmegen itself. Links with the Corbridge and Wroxeter mirrors are noted. Also in this volume, which contains papers from the III International Conference on the Study of Roman Bronzes (1974), are M Marien (9-19) on the problem of heirlooms in Belgo-Roman graves; and W J Th Peters (197-204) on the techniques of manufacture (lost wax etc) of bronze figurines from the Netherlands. | |||||
