Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Attempts to reconstruct the activities of workshops and masons by recording and comparing mouldings and technical minutiae. It is open to question whether master masons have definite personal styles and a variety of influences is seen in the five churches studied in detail. These derive from Hereford Cathedral Tower (c 1290-1310) but show design influences of later work at Tewkesbury and Gloucester, and then of a design school centred on Lichfield. LASB |
