Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Excavations have been ongoing at a Roman villa site at Shakenoak Farm, Oxfordshire, since 1960. This short note outlines the findings from the current excavations in a waterlogged area of the valley bottom, with the most notable features comprising a system of fishponds. The scale of the ponds suggests that fish farming was a significant source of income for the villa rather than solely providing food for its owner. LD |
