Abstract:		 Small, sub-rectangular enclosure surveyed in 1994 and excavated in 1995. `The finds' by Christine Howard-Davis (149--51) are sparse, mostly medieval (and possibly early medieval) pottery and iron blade fragments. There is a note on the `Historical context' by Caron Newman (151--3). The favoured interpretation is that it represents a medieval scale, occupied sporadically during the summer for up to 200 years and possibly established as part of a monastic bercary system organised by Cockersand Abbey.
