Abstract:
The investigations provide the first evidence for transitional Late Roman/ Early Saxon occupation in the parish and the finds suggest a nearby domestic dwelling of moderately high status associated with a ditched field system, perhaps a farmstead. A substantial circular structure of probable twelfth-century date may have been a dovecote or windmill.
