Abstract:
Excavations were undertaken in two areas inside the ringwork known as Camp Green during the winter of 1976-77 and in May 1977. The first excavation showed that the area to the north of the present house, Eastwood, had been destroyed by a late 19th- or early 20th-century timber extension to the house. The second excavation consisted of a cutting through the rampart and down to the ditch. The phasing of this defensive work was revealed but not securely dated.
