The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 A masonry structure of earlier 2nd century AD is the earliest known building. A praetorium was built after AD 250 on a series of terraces; it included a modest bath building and a grand north wing. A few 5th century residual sherds and ?pagan period glass may suggest some continuity, but occupation is taken up again in 8th century when excavated remains and scatters support the evidence of 8th/9th century sculptures now in the church. There are two sunken-floored huts and three Middle Saxon pits. Was the Middle Saxon occupation St Cyneburgh's nunnery, assumed destroyed by the Danes?
