Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	Archaeological investigations undertaken on 107 hectares of land at Vine Farm in Shingay-cum-Wendy revealed three areas of settlement and agricultural activity ranging in date from the mid-Iron Age to the Romano-British period, with relatively blank areas between. This paper places the results of investigation in the context of a watery landscape of converging river courses, with ‘islands’ of land suitable for farming and occupation located between braided streams.
