Abstract:
MOLA Headland Infrastructure (MHI) carried out an archaeological excavation for the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Improvement Scheme at Mill Common, Huntingdon, between October 2018 and August 2019. The excavation identified multi-period occupation in the eastern part of Mill Common, dating from the late Iron Age to modern period. This article will address the transition of the site function – from agricultural to productive – and will focus on the Saxon and medieval periods, placing the excavation results in the wider context of the development of Huntingdon.
