Abstract: |
A social analysis of Anglo-Saxon inhumation burials from the fifth to seventh centuries AD, based on a stylistic approach in which a burial is assessed as an artefact- -- the encapsulation of a succession of decisions and actions taken concerning the disposal of a single individual. The work was accomplished using a computer-based recording system, designed to process large amounts of information as efficiently as possible. |
