Abstract: |
Inter-unit rivalries were dissolved by arranging regular meetings for unit directors and similar archaeologists to exchange views and build up a picture of the region as a whole. The fruits of this cooperation are illustrated by this compendium of the state and needs of archaeology in N Derbyshire, Derby town, Leicester, Rutland and Leicestershire, Lincoln, N and S Lincolnshire, the Trent Valley, and Nottingham City. A section is added on the effects of leisure activities on archaeological sites, and another on the need for an environmental archaeologist for the E Midlands. |
