Abstract: |
Excavations were designed to provide a stratified sequence in which material recovered by Childe in the 1920s could be placed, to collect environmental and economic information from wet middens and to resolve certain ambiguities in the evidence. Pottery and other artefacts are illustrated together with structures from Trench 1. Laboratory work is proceeding on the environmental material and thirteen radiocarbon dates are reported (2500-2000 bc). |
