Abstract: |
A series of trial trenches and excavations were carried out across the site. The earliest features identified were a Roman cemetery and Roman ditch. In the medieval and post-medieval period the site underwent a series of pit digging and quarrying for sand extraction and by the late post-medieval period the site was built up with warehouses. Three trial trenches remained to be excavated but in the areas trial trenched only a watching brief was recommended. [Au(abr)] |
