Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundations for a bungalow and garage. Prehistoric, Roman and medieval remains had been recorded in the vicinity of the site. During the watching brief, a medieval rubbish pit containing undiagnostic pottery sherds, limpet shell, animal bone and hammerscale was recorded. Roman, 12th-16th century and post-medieval pottery was recovered from the cultivated topsoil and three soakaways, probably of early modern date, were observed. [Au(adp)] |
