Abstract: |
Archaeological investigations in advance of a new gas pipeline revealed the latest phase in the depositional makeup of the second quadrangle at the King's Manor. It was discovered that the ground surface had recently been artificially built-up with a quantity of builders' debris and capped with a spread of topsoil. This episode of landscaping echoed the extensive building and renovation work carried out to various buildings around the quadrangle since the 19th century. [Au] |
