Abstract: |
A short programme of archaeological evaluation was undertaken along the proposed route of the Bodmin Town Leat Flood Alleviation Scheme near Priory House. A total of six small trenches and test pits were excavated by mechanical digger under archaeological supervision. The two northern-most excavations, positioned very close to the known remains of the medieval priory, uncovered a number of human burials. The remains of a building, with upstanding walling in excess of one metre high and a cobbled floor surface were also located. Other pits revealed evidence of 18th-19th century drains. [Au] |
