Abstract: |
Post holes for a replacement fence were excavated archaeologically, at a school which lay within Insular X of the Roman town of Corinium, Scheduled Ancient Monument no. 361. No archaeological deposits or artefacts were revealed, although a layer comparable to deposits thought to have resulted from Roman ground consolidation was observed within pits left by the removal of gate posts. The original gatepost holes were re-used, and no further excavation was carried out in this area. [AIP] |
