Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on the site of a proposed residential development within the grounds of Clinton House, Watergate Street. Four trenches were opened, three of which contained remains of post-medieval structures with associated floors, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. These overlay a quarry pit and probable well of mid 17th century date, which were cut into the natural gravel subsoil. [Au(adp)] |
