Abstract: |
The engine house was surveyed prior to consolidation. The surveys revealed the structure to be of a lightweight construction with a slender bobwall, an absence of quoining and incorporation of longitudinal timbers. These results suggested that this engine house was of early form, and was likely to have dated from the late 18th century or the very early 19th century. [Au(abr)] |
