Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation on a small plot of land bordering Frog Lane was carried out prior the erection of four flats. A watching brief was also carried out during groundwork for new foundations. One trench, which was cut to a length of 19m centrally to the site by machine, revealed two intercutting features of probable early Roman date, one of which was a ditch, set roughly parallel to the Roman road situated just south of the site. The nature of these features suggested an agricultural origin. [Au(adp)] |
