Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was carried out in response to proposed sand and gravel extraction. A wide range of sources were examined which revealed no Scheduled Ancient Monuments or Listed Buildings within the study area. However, the focal cropmarks, visible in the larger of the four fields, may represent prehistoric unenclosed settlement or ring ditches. Evidence from other sites nearby suggests that there is a clear potential for traces of long-established settlement/field systems in the study area. [Au(abr)] |
