Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a new transmitting tower, which lay 30m from the site of a ring ditch identified on aerial photographs. A number of barrow cemeteries lay further to the north. During the evaluation, no archaeological features or deposits were identified, although five sherds of pottery from a single 13th-14th century vessel were recovered. A modern brick fragment was also noted. It was concluded that the pottery sherds represented only chance finds. [AIP] |
