Abstract: |
Following an earlier desk-top study by York Archaeological Trust, a series of four trenches were excavated to ascertain the degree of preservation of the archaeology of the site. Evidence of a Roman settlement from between the 3rd and 4th centuries was located along with a probable Roman dump. A post-Medieval cemetery was found in all four trenches. |
