Abstract: |
Evaluation trenches were excavated on a site next to a known 16th century culvert. A trench positioned close culvert identified a flint and brick structure. This was associated with a circular building, of probable late medieval date, possibly used as a hearth, with a large copper or dyebath above. A brick lined pit and drain were identified, linked to the culvert. A concentration of post holes and post pads dating to the 14th century were found on the eastern side of the site. [Au(abr)] |
