Abstract: |
The assessment indicated that the archaeological potential for the surrounding area was good, however, no archaeological material was known specifically from the site, which lay beyond the limits of a Scheduled Iron Age hillfort. The degree of Iron Age occupation directly beyond the ramparts of the fort was unknown, although it was likely that the archaeological potential would have been greatly diminished. The report concluded that, while the general archaeological potential of the site was good, the specific archaeological potential of 'Hartlands; was quite low. This potential had itself been diminished by the extensive earlier disturbance of the site. [Au(adp)] |
