Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was undertaken during parts of the construction of the water-main. The first opportunity to observe the work arose during the removal of topsoil; subsequently, the excavation of the pipe trench across three parish boundaries was also observed. They were fairly uniform in construction, but none had buried soils within them which might have preserved dating material. A flint scatter was recorded on the edge of the pipeline corridor. Limited fieldwalking after topsoil-stripping produced a few prehistoric worked flints and a few post-medieval potsherds. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
