Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was undertaken ahead of a proposed business park redevelopment. The site was immediately to the north-east of 'Boys Hall', a medieval moated manor house (Scheduled Ancient Monument 146). This assessment examined and contextualised the significance of Iron Age and medieval remains discovered at the north-east boundary and adjacent to the south-west of the proposed development area respectively during archaeological evaluation of the plot in 1990. The report also identified further potential in particular for later pre-Roman Iron Age/early Roman remains, as well as Neolithic/Bronze Age and post-medieval remains within the area under threat.
