Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was undertaken of land adjacent to Pullar Court, Bishops Cleeve. The intention of the project was to provide information on the archaeological implications of a planning application for residential development. It was concluded that the study area lay in close proximity to known Romano-British settlement remains which may have extended across the area. In addition the site lay on the western periphery of the Saxon and medieval village. A recent borehole investigation showed that there may have been sand and gravel extraction on the site which may have destroyed any archaeological remains. [Au(abr)] |
